KRCL Invites ₹913.7 Crore Bids for Vizhinjam Port Rail Connectivity Project
Konkan Railway Corporation Limited has floated a ₹9,137.7 million tender for the much-awaited rail connectivity project linked to Vizhinjam International Seaport. The tender was officially issued on May 26, inviting bids for the development of a dedicated rail corridor that will connect the port with the national railway network. The project is expected to play a major role in boosting cargo movement and logistics operations at Vizhinjam Port, which is emerging as one of India’s key transshipment hubs. Once completed, the rail link will help reduce transportation delays, improve freight efficiency, and support large-scale trade activities across Kerala and other parts of the country. Officials believe the new connectivity infrastructure will further strengthen the port’s strategic importance and attract more international shipping traffic in the coming years.
